LIGHTING: If you are imagining old fashioned 70s style light screens and flashing light bulbs, think again. We are sometimes asked to use the old retro style lightboxes for nostalic reasons but an extra charge is made for this because of their weight. A full lighting rig is always provided for venues that are large enough and this incorporates similar computer controlled units to those used in top nightspots. We can control the colours, speed and effects to suit the music or theme of your event. The effects range from subtle enough to use as background mood lighting while your guests arrive, to fast moving, energetic effects over a packed dance floor.

The lighting is tailored to each event and can become quite technical to explain, but without going into too much technical detail, here goes: We use a combination of colour washes, colour changing spotlights, scanners, moving heads, ultraviolet lasers and many more other special effects such as smoke, bubbles, foam and a haze machines all mounted on a goalpost system around the main deck area.

The fact we use the latest technology to help deliver you the best quality sound and lighting available is just one of them and we only use professional grade equipment. This benefits you the customer in many ways, but most of all if gives us both the assurance that it's less likely to break down. We carry many spares and tools for repair including battery backup which is on hand just in case of an unexpected power cut. Our Disco rig consists of a 1400 Watt 4 speaker sound system. All of our 72,000 music tracks are computer indexed, and we can find the CD for your requests within seconds. Our music collection contains music from the 1930's through to the latest charts. To keep up to date, we are sent the latest chart hits every week by regularly subscribing to a specialist provider in the trade and we are amazed sometimes at what's included in each weeks supply! Organisers can specify the general genre of the music, and can even specify individual songs (or even the whole play list) for the event in advance. This actually saves us time and ensures the right tunes are selected. Our hi-tech lighting system comprises of 12 sets of assorted multi-beam lights with synchronized multi-patterns, a twin beam laser, strobe light together with a smoke machine which is used for improved effect. These are all mounted on our 12 foot wide goalpost lighting rig and we can control the lights depending on the music or leave them on automatic response. This way we can generate different effects for different types and moods of music. Whatever your requirements, we can tailor a disco to suit your needs and sometimes it isn‘t necessary to have much equipment because of the room size so we can just provide the bare minimum of a couple of T bar stands with just a few lights if that is the case. We also have a variety of extra equipment you might want to make use of and a list can be found in this site. The sound and output will vary according to the size of each venue, but don’t worry - we will not crank the volume up too much unless requested. Our PA equipment can be used for presenting a speech at your event but our insurance policy does not permit it to be used by other entertainers. Cheap equipment will always let you down, we know this as it's happened to us when we started many years ago. These days technology is very advanced and you get what you pay for. We pay a lot for our equipment so we don't pay the price for failure on the night! All our electrical equipment is tested regularly and we provide PAT certificates where required. With many venues asking for these certificates it's always best to know. The last thing you need is to cancel at the last minute because the venue management is insisting on something your chosen Disco company does not have.
